CAP provides career development coaching and college admission counseling to guide parents and students on their college journey. By following these steps, we focus on a student’s complete education plan.
Setting of Personal Goals

- Discuss grades and test scores, and develop an improvement plan if needed
- Develop a plan for meaningful summer activities
Building Colleges Lists
- Discuss campus factors
- Discuss student preferences and fit
- Plan in-person and virtual visits
- Eventually land on 6-10 diverse, good-fit schools
Application Management
- Manage deadlines and communicate to keep on track
Letters of Recommendation Support
- Assist with preparation of senior packet
- Help request letters of recommendation
Interview Preparation
- For admissions, alumni interviews, scholarships, etc.
- Prepare with questions and mock interviews
Developing a Professional Resume
- Coursework

Standardized Test Diagnostics and Preparation
- Initial assessment with official practice test
- Developing a plan based on results and goals
- Managing the plan for improvement
Essay Development
- Topic development
- Editing up to 1200 words
Scholarships
- Help identify scholarships
- Edit applications including essays
Decision Time
- Discuss admission results as well as strategies for waitlists and appeals
- Create timeline for next steps
